Personal Emergency Response Service (PERS) is a program that helps Older Adults remain independent in their homes by giving them a peace of mind. PERS, is a waterproof medical alert device you wear on your wrist or around your neck that is designed to reduce the concerns and risks of being alone. In the event of a scare, fall, or emergency, help is available at the touch of a button. Systems are for all members of the community. PERS - Frequently Asked Questions

PERS is a medical alert system supported by PIC for emergency incidents
Yes, PERS is a fee for service system for monitoring members who might be at risk for falls or another emergency event. The cost of the program depends on which unit the members selects.
Both members and non-members of PIC program can participate in this program.
No, the system is monitored by another organization called Connect America. However, PIC is notified should a member have an emergency event and someone from the Member Care office will contact the member the following day to check on him or her.
