Do you want to be an elf too? Join us in Elves For Elders
Elves who join Partners In Care become a part of our Member Care Program, making a difference while combating social isolation and promoting social engagement.
Elves are people like YOU. They sprinkle a little holiday magic and warmth to older adults in the PIC community.
What do elves do?
• Elves can donate or deliver stockings.
• Elves decorate (or even make) stockings. We recommend using a standard size stocking that measures about 16 inches. Some elves use large 9+-inch gift bags.
• Elves can fill a stocking with things like night lights, unscented toiletries, scarves, gloves, puzzles, magazines, kitchen towels, magnifying/ reading tools, stationary, pill boxes and anything the holiday inspires. Creative elves, come join the fun.
Please clearly label each stocking or gift bag to indicate whether it is for a female, male, or is gender-neutral. For gender-neutral gifts, ensure that the items are appropriate for both males and females. Attach a removable note or label to each stocking or gift bag, specifying whether a gift card is included. All items must be new, and please check expiration dates where applicable. Fill your stocking or gift bag with the same care and thoughtfulness you would give to a friend or family member.

Elves who deliver the stockings are asked to visit a few minutes with the member. If possible, please take a picture and bring back a story or tell us how the stocking made them feel. This time of year can be extremely difficult for many older adults, intensifying their feelings of isolation and loneliness.
Elves who are delivering stockings should come to our Anne Arundel Office, December 12-13 from 10am to 2pm. Call 410.544.4800 ahead of time to schedule your pick up appointment.
Any undeliverable stockings need to be returned to the office by December 20th!
Join us for a day of fun
PIC elves who want to participate in the Elves for Elders social event can bring a stocking to Brian Boru Restaurant and Pub (489 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, MD)
Event Date: Saturday, December 7th
Event Time: 2-7PM
Current elves and PIC volunteers…
Don’t forget! We have a unique culture of service exchange. Report your miles and hours on the form given at the time of pickup. Bank your hours for a later time.
Recruit other elves! Encourage friends and family to become a PIC elf.
If you know community members who may want to volunteer this holiday and bring a smile and a hug to our older adults in our communities, have them become a volunteer today!
If you want to volunteer and you want to make a difference…

Let’s make a difference in the life of an older adult by bringing holiday cheer. Many PIC members have little or no other visitors during this special season.
Thank you in advance for your support and dedication!
