To receive services from Partners In Care, you must be over the age of 60 and living in one of the counties we serve. PIC is a Service Exchange Program where members actively participate in a monthly giveback. All generations are encouraged to volunteer their time and talents.
PIC is a Service Exchange community. Our members exchange services with one another. Our requirement is that each member will contribute time (volunteer), talent or treasure (money). We gratefully accept monetary donations as well as gently used clothing & household items, which are resold, in our Upscale Resale Boutique; proceeds from sales support our programs.
Ride requests have to be made at least one week in advance (7 Calendar Days). Requests must include date, time, and complete street address. After we receive your request, volunteer matchmakers will “match” you with an available volunteer driver in your area. The driver will pick you up at a mutually agreed upon time, take you to your appointment, pick you up from your appointment and take you home.

Partners In Care offers a Mobility Bus service. PIC has five lift-equipped buses that provide services to individual who require use of a lift in order to board the bus. This is a fee-based on-demand service. There is a one-time application fee of $25. Fees are based on time and distance. Requests for rides up to 20 miles is $35 per hour. In fact, any customer can request the use of the lift if he/she is unable to board the bus using stairs. Mobility provides individuals door-to-door transportation. In some instances, the service is curb-to-curb as the driver is not allowed to leave the bus unattended.
You choose how often and when you volunteer. You may volunteer as little or as often as you like.
Members may request up to one ride per week; a request is not a promise to provide a ride. We do our best to match volunteer drivers with members who request rides.
The services that Partners In Care Maryland, Inc. provides, allow the older adults in our communities to age in place with dignity and respect. Each of our members must be able to advocate for themselves. For this reason, we require potential members to request membership on their own.
