Ride Partners
Our Ride Partners program helps our members get to non-emergency medical appointments, grocery stores, hair cuts, community events, and more. Volunteer drivers offer arm-in-arm, door-through-door support across multiple stops and county lines. For many older adults, this ride program offers not only reliable transportation, but also meaningful connection, friendly conversation, and dependable care along the way.

How the Ride Partners Program Works
Ride Partners operates through our service exchange model, where members earn time credits by volunteering or donating items to our upscale resale boutiques. Whether they use banked hours to request rides to non-emergency medical appointments, the grocery store, or social activities, our volunteer drivers ensure members stay mobile, safe, and engaged in their communities.
To request a ride, you must be a member of Partners In Care Maryland, Inc. Please call at least 7 business days in advance:
Anne Arundel – 410-544-4800
Frederick – 301-682-7433
Mid Shore – 410-822-1803

Frequently Asked Questions
Learn more about Ride Partners:
Each member is allowed one ride per week. A week is defined as seven (7) calendar days. For example, if you request a ride on a Monday, your next eligible ride would be the following Monday.
Unfortunately, no. PIC is unable to accommodate same-day or next-day ride requests. We recommend scheduling as far in advance as possible—a minimum of 7 business days is required.
While we do our best to fulfill every ride request, we cannot guarantee availability. PIC staff and volunteer matchmakers work hard to find a driver, but we may not always be successful. You’ll receive a status update at least 24 hours before your requested ride. We strongly encourage members to have a backup plan just in case.
The member is responsible for any parking or toll fees incurred during the trip.
Yes, but we ask that you limit requests to two stops per ride. All stops must be identified at the time of scheduling. Our drivers are volunteers and may have other commitments, so we appreciate your flexibility. If you have more than two errands, consider spreading them over multiple weeks.
