Safe homes support independent living. That’s why Partners In Care Maryland, Inc. offers handyman services for members through our Repairs With Care program. From fixing leaky faucets to grab bar installations, our volunteers complete minor home repairs that help older adults live safely, affordably, and confidently in the comfort of home.

How the Repairs With Care Program Works
If you’re a member of PIC, you can request home maintenance and handyman help through Repairs With Care. From simple fixes to fall-prevention upgrades like grab bars and railing repairs, our team will help with the small jobs that make a big difference.
To schedule a service, call your local PIC office and ask for the Repairs With Care program. We’ll review your request, confirm your eligibility, and match you with a qualified volunteer or staff member.

Repairs With Care is a volunteer-powered program that offers handyman services to improve safety and support aging in place. Volunteers help with common home maintenance tasks, like securing railings or fixing leaks, so older adults can stay in their homes with confidence.
Any PIC member age 60 or older who has met their giveback commitment is eligible to request service through the Repairs With Care program.
Repairs With Care focuses on safety-related home maintenance tasks. Common services include:
- Installing grab bars and handrails
- Repairing leaky faucets
- Securing outdoor railings
- Changing hard-to-reach lightbulbs
These small repairs can prevent falls and make daily life safer for older adults living alone.
No. PIC does not provide emergency services. However, we can connect you with vetted contractors or community partners for urgent repair needs.
There is no charge for labor. Members are responsible for supplying any necessary materials or parts. Repairs With Care is offered as part of the service exchange model, so members must also meet their monthly commitment to the organization.
Call the Member Care team to describe your repair needs. We’ll let you know if the request qualifies and help schedule the service with a volunteer.
