Programs That Support Independence—and Build Community
Partners In Care Maryland, Inc. offers a range of community-centric services and programs for older adults—from transportation and home repairs to personalized support and connection. Through our volunteer-driven programs and time banking model, every service helps older adults age in place with dignity, purpose, and the support of a caring community.

Helping Hands & Friendly Faces
PIC provides arm-in-arm, door-through-door companionship services and person-centered care. But what makes our programs truly unique is how they’re delivered.
Through our time-banking model—the first of its kind in the region—our members both give and receive help. That means when you get support, you’re also part of supporting someone else, creating a rewarding cycle of social connection, purpose, and community. To our members, PIC feels like a family where every individual has a role to play in helping older adults stay safe and independent at home.
These programs are available to members age 60 and older, and are powered by volunteers, donors, and partners who believe in the value of Neighbors Helping Neighbors.

Who We Serve
PIC supports older adults across Maryland—especially those who live alone, have limited transportation, or want to stay active and engaged in their community.
Our services help fill the gaps where family support or public programs fall short, so older adults can age in place with dignity and respect, remain independent, and build a strong social network.
Support That Goes Both Ways
PIC uses a unique model called Service Exchange & Time Banking. That means members both give and receive support based on what they’re able to offer.
Maybe you give a ride, make friendly check-in calls, or help with home repairs—and in return, you receive help when you need it. Members can bank hours for their time and donations, which can be used later for services.
Non-members are always welcome to volunteer or donate. While they don’t bank hours, they do receive a tax receipt for accepted donated items—and the satisfaction of supporting a mission that matters
This model creates a culture of mutual support where everyone has value and every act of help builds community. It’s how we turn simple services into lasting relationships.
